We saw one of the coolest things ever at a bar in the West Village on Saturday night. It was a little statue of a sumo wrestler atop the bar. It was about 1.5 feet high, squatting, hands on knees, with a look of concentration. To make look even cooler, the people at the bar had put oversized sunglasses on its face.
The bartender couldn’t tell us where they got it, but I searched for “sumo statue” yesterday and found it! It’s Basho the Sumo Wrestler Sculpture, and one day it will be mine.
