My poor wife had oral surgery yesterday. Around Friday, while on our trip to Vermont (it was fun, I will post photos soon) she got a toothache. By Sunday it was very painful and her jaw was swollen. Yesterday she went to a dentist who recommended she see an oral surgeon right away. Yesterday afternoon she had surgery on an abscess that had a cyst. They removed them, will test it and stiched her up. She has stitches and gauze in her mouth and her jaw is swelling even more before it heals up.

Her dental insurance, through Yahoo!, kicks in on January 1. She is currently uninsured. She said her detinst appointment wasn’t too much and her oral surgeon only charged her half of what it normally would be. Having experienced sever tooth pain, I know that a dentist could say, “It will cost $10,000,” and you would cry, “Ok! Just help me, please! Now.”

Also, we had tickets to see Bright Eyes at Radio City Music Hall last night. After her surgery she was so not up for a concert — who would be? At 5:30 p, I posted the tickets, awesome seats, on Craiglist. By 7:30 pm, I had cash in hand for the full price we paid. Oh well that we didn’t get to see the show, but I was amazed at how cool Craigslist is.

I feel so bad for my wife. But at least it’s taken care of and she’s healing.
